my meandering thoughts

Theres too much faking it. On social media, online, in life.

We are lead to believe that everything has to look picture perfect, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.

The pressure to look perfect, have the perfectly decorated home, live this perfectly wonderful life is just too hard to keep up with. Its not real, its a facade, a mask to cover up the less than Instagram worthy parts of our life.

But why are we so afraid to just be real, to show life in all its gritty glory, sometimes beautiful, often messy & chaotic?

The older I get the more often I find myself thinking about this quest for perfection and how futile it really is. Life is supposed to be messy, we are supposed to learn from our mistakes. To fail, to fall down, then to get back up again. There is no shame in that.

So lets embrace the imperfect, lets throw caution to the wind and live wildly and free from the weight of perfection. Let’s just be the most raw, real version of ourselves. Open our souls, wear our hearts on our sleeve, hug more, cry more, and worry about perfect less.

Perfection is the ultimate illusion. You can be constantly chasing it, only to realise too late that it never mattered anyway.

Let’s chase real instead x

I’m going to leave you with one of my favourite ever songs. The lyrics say it all, listen & enjoy my friends. And then throw perfection out of the window x

A look at some lovely wedding images and stumble across this, and I love it! I too am putting together something like this, putting out the positive vibes and forget everything else. Nicely done 🙂
